Therapy Assistant Practitioner

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our Inpatient Therapy Service in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and surgery teams. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our well-established team and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care.
As a Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting our qualified members of staff, including Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. You will assess patients, deliver complex treatments to dependent patients under their guidance, and participate in the running of the department.
This role involves a mixture of clinical and non-clinical duties, including data collection, equipment ordering, and working on our Respiratory and Surgical wards. The caseload can be challenging, and we require a candidate with good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a mature and tactful approach.
You will be line managed by a Physiotherapist and work with the Inpatient Therapy team based at Watford General. Regular supervision will be provided, and we have a training program to aid your personal development.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is approximately £22,000- £25,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including flexible working options, a comprehensive training program, and opportunities for professional development.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a therapy or nursing assistant in the NHS.
- NHS experience in an Acute environment.
- Experience of managing and prioritizing your own caseload.
Working Arrangements
This is a 30-hour/week role, ideally Monday to Friday. The post does not include any evening/overnight responsibilities, but the successful candidate will be required to participate in the seven-day working rotas, with a frequency of 1:4 - 1:6 weekends.
