The Opportunity:

PIB Group is seeking a highly skilled VAT Accountant to join their Finance & Tax team in Nottingham. This exciting role presents a unique opportunity to work with a global organization that values professional growth and a collaborative work environment.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting UK VAT compliance activity, preparing the UK Quarterly VAT Return for the UK VAT Group, and analyzing transactions by applying UK VAT rules. This position requires a strong understanding of UK and International VAT legislation, as well as experience with VAT specific software.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the UK Quarterly VAT Return for the UK VAT Groups.
  • Extract data from various IT applications, verify this data, and analyze transactions by applying UK VAT rules.
  • Perform transactional reviews following internal SOPs and HMRC VAT compliance guidance.
  • Support the UK Tax team with International VAT compliance preparation/review and contribute to ongoing process improvement and systems refinements.

Requirements:

  • ACA (or equivalent) or CTA (part or fully) qualified tax professional.
  • Qualified to CCAB or ATT.
  • Experience of working in a complex International Group with a range of VAT recoverable rates.
  • Production of UK and International VAT returns.
  • Robust knowledge of current UK and International VAT legislation.
  • Use of VAT specific software including Alpha VAT - desirable.
  • Good communication and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Data manipulation from multiple sources.
  • Advanced Excel skills are desirable but not essential.
  • Highly organized and great time management.
  • Positive 'can do attitude' and natural problem solver, multi-tasker, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
