Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Governance Specialist to join our Board of Trustees as an Honorary Treasurer. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for finance and governance to contribute to the strategic direction of Prevent Breast Cancer.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Accountant and Chief Executive to ensure the charity's financial resources meet its present and future needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Chairing the Finance and Audit Committee
  • Overseeing, approving, and presenting budgets, accounts, and financial statements
  • Ensuring the charity has an appropriate reserves policy and investment strategy
  • Advising on the financial implications of our strategic plans

As Honorary Treasurer, you will also serve as a Trustee and be expected to contribute effectively to board proceedings, collaborate with fellow trustees, and support the Chief Executive in their role. Your specific skills, knowledge, and experience will be invaluable in shaping our strategy and making informed decisions for the charity's work.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A chartered accountant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong governance and financial management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for Prevent Breast Cancer's vision and work

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of this role in ensuring the charity's financial stability and success.
