Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd, we are seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team in Greater Manchester. This temporary role is expected to last until the end of April 2025.

About the Role:

We require a highly organized individual to manage information requests, serving as the first point of contact for Information Rights queries and advising stakeholders on related matters.

The ideal candidate will investigate information security incidents, gathering evidence, recording actions for improvement, and providing recommendations to the Data Protection Officer on potential ICO reports.

Maintaining effective record-keeping and conducting analysis to produce statistical information are essential tasks for this position.

This role involves developing and delivering training to colleagues, promoting organizational learning and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will review and monitor new and existing Information Sharing Agreements, offering compliance advice to the business.

They will also advise on Information Governance matters, including the application of the corporate records retention and disposal schedule.

Support with budget and administration tasks, such as requesting quotes and financial spend, and monitoring Service Level Agreements with off-site storage providers, is a key responsibility.

Developing procedures and guidance to an agreed standard, ensuring regular review and updates, is a critical aspect of this role.

Providing support on change projects and programs involving information governance risks and opportunities to reduce Information Security incidents is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a Data Protection function.
  • IAPP Data Protection qualification or equivalent.

Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Salary: Up to £24.75 per hour via an Umbrella company.
