We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Allied and Clinical Healthcare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges on their journey towards recovery and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Direct Support: Offer direct support and assistance to individuals with mental health conditions in a residential or community setting.
- Assist with Daily Living: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support Recovery Goals: Support clients in developing coping skills, managing symptoms, and achieving their recovery goals.
- Foster a Therapeutic Environment: Foster a therapeutic and supportive environment conducive to the well-being and safety of clients.
- Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mental health professionals, social workers, and case managers, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor Progress: Monitor client progress and behaviour, document observations, and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide Emotional Support: Provide emotional support, encouragement, and advocacy for clients to enhance their quality of life and independence.
- Participate in Training: Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in mental health care.
- Experience in Mental Health: Previous experience working in a mental health, Autism or Learning Disabilities support role is required.
- Compassionate Approach: A compassionate and non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals with mental health challenges is essential.
- MAPA/PMVA Certificate: You must have your MAPA/PMVA or CPI certificate Advanced level.
- Excellent Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues and other professionals.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and work schedules is required.
- Mental Health Knowledge: Knowledge of mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and recovery principles is preferred.
- Driving Licence: A driving licence is preferred but not essential.
- UK Residency: Must be a UK resident and have the right to work in the UK. We do not offer sponsorships.
