About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EHC Plan Writer to join our team at 4Recruitment Services. As an EHC Plan Writer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Local Authority in meeting its statutory duties related to the assessment, placement, and monitoring of pupils with SEN and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of EHC plans, ensuring timely completion and distribution to schools and stakeholders.
  • Create and amend EHC and SEND plans, taking into account the needs of pupils and their families.
  • Provide advice and guidance to SENCOs, head teachers, and other professionals within education, ensuring they have the necessary support to meet the needs of pupils with SEN.
  • Act as the first point of contact for schools and the general public, responding to SEND-related inquiries and providing information on available resources and support.
  • Chair and attend EHC/SEND plan meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure systems are updated regularly, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Ability to produce high-quality EHC plans that meet the needs of pupils and their families.
  • Experience of the referral process and assessment of education, health, and care needs.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of working within the SEND system, including the ability to convene the right support for young people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service, with a commitment to safe recruitment practices.
