Education and Health Care Plan Specialist

Main Responsibilities:
- To manage a caseload of complex children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), requiring a high level of expertise and adaptability.
- To formulate, draft, and review high-quality Education and Health Care (EHC) plans, involving the analysis and collation of information from various professionals through the statutory needs assessment process.
- To provide a holistic approach by working collaboratively with parents, carers, children, and young people, as well as professionals, to ensure that SEND and transport needs are identified in a timely manner and that the views and wishes of the child or young person are integral to the assessment, planning, and review process.
Key Skills and Qualities:
- Proven track record of working within SEN in a local authority setting.
- Experience in completing new assessments and managing complex caseloads.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including parents, carers, children, and young people, as well as professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
