About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Education, Health and Care Coordinator. As part of our Special Needs Assessment Service, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the statutory responsibilities towards children and young people with severe and complex special educational needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the administration of Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans for children and young people aged 0 to 25.
  • Ensure the efficient and timely assessment of children and young people, and manage and review their EHC plans.
  • Provide comprehensive casework management, including annual reviews, reassessments, and phase transfers between education settings.
  • Collaborate with schools, education settings, and other professionals to support children and young people with special educational needs.

Requirements

  • A thorough knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the associated SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience of working in a busy and pressurised environment with competing pressures.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of professionals and parents.
  • A desire to work with young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities.
