About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapy Technician to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As an Occupational Therapy Technician, you will work under the guidance of occupational therapists to implement intervention programs with service users who are inpatients within the hospital.

The successful candidate will be responsible for therapeutic handling of patients, including home visits to deliver and fit equipment to facilitate discharge. You will also be required to undertake administrative duties as needed by the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement intervention programs with service users under the guidance of occupational therapists
  • Therapeutic handling of patients, including home visits to deliver and fit equipment
  • Administrative duties as required by the department

Requirements

  • Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3, eg NVQ or OCN related to Health & Social Care or prepared to work towards
  • Documented evidence of participation in training activities
  • Understanding of the role of occupational therapy
  • Relevant experience working within health, social or teaching settings
  • Awareness of Occupational Therapy equipment, toilet equipment, manual handling equipment
