Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled technician to join the Occupational Therapy team in a dynamic healthcare environment. The role will involve working under the guidance of occupational therapists to implement intervention programs with patients who require assistance with daily living activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals and community-based facilities. This will include conducting assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing education and training to patients and their families.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conducting assessments and developing treatment plans in collaboration with occupational therapists
  • Providing support and assistance to patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assisting patients with mobility and transfer activities, including the use of equipment and assistive devices
  • Providing education and training to patients and their families on topics such as safety, hygiene, and independence
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements

  • Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3, such as NVQ or OCN, related to Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards
  • Documented evidence of participation in training activities
  • Understanding of the role of occupational therapy
  • Relevant experience working within health, social, or teaching settings
  • Awareness of Occupational Therapy equipment, toilet equipment, and manual handling equipment
  • Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and/or groups
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Awareness of team dynamics and ability to work effectively as part of a team
