Academics is seeking an experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a Level 4 qualification to join their specialist unit in Tower Hamlets, East London. As an SEN HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contributing to a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SEN Teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons, ensuring the needs of each child are met.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and help monitor and assess student progress.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support, adapting resources and strategies to suit different learning styles and needs.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, promoting social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the SEN Teacher and other staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of support.

Requirements:

  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., special educational needs, child development).
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a specialist unit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changing situations, prioritizing the needs of children and staff.
