Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacy Manager

As an experienced and skilled Inpatient Pharmacy Manager, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective management, coordination, and delivery of the Inpatient pharmacy dispensary service at NHS.

You will require professional leadership skills to supervise other registered pharmacy technicians and all members of the Pharmacy Dispensary team.

The successful candidate will work weekends and be based within the Pharmacy department at Colchester Hospital.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Managing the In-patient and Collingwood dispensaries at the Colchester site and leading those departments.
  • Supervising all grades of staff working in these dispensaries.
  • Providing a robust pharmacy service to all wards/departments at Colchester Hospital and outlying units.
  • Assuming responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day organization of all 3 dispensaries within Colchester Hospital in the absence of the Outpatient Dispensary Manager.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Proven post-qualification experience as a hospital or community pharmacy technician (band 5)
  • Experience of supervising other staff
  • Experience of managing service delivery
  • Project Management Skills
  • Experience of Stock Control
  • POD/SAM experience
Knowledge and Qualifications:
  • GPhC Registered
  • BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Regional Dispensary Accredited Checking Technician
  • NVQ qualification in supervisory management or equivalent
  • Certificate in Medicines Management for Pharmacy Technicians (CMMPT)
  • Clinical Supervisor
  • Pods & Transcriptions (MM) or equivalent
  • Computer Literacy of standard databases
  • Understanding of pharmacy organisational/structure (local/national)
  • Good Pharmaceutical knowledge
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy IT systems (specifically EMIS)
Salary and Benefits:

£28,222 - £38,131 per annum
