Senior Transport Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transport Coordinator to join our Transport team at our Heywood site on a full-time permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the Transport operation, ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained.
  • Plan and optimize driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery and collection times.
  • Develop and implement effective transport plans to meet on-time delivery and collection performance expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Planning team, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor arrival and departure times, ensuring deliveries are made within specified windows.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues or incidents related to transportation operations.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team to create and update daily run summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulations, including tachograph and driving rules.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transportation operations and management.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office packages.
