We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Transition Mentor. As a key member of our Ayrshire Youth Housing Service, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide housing support and mentorship to young people in their daily lives, helping them achieve their goals and ambitions.
- Offer advice and guidance on employment, education, and social community integration.
- Build long-lasting relationships and trust with young people who may have experienced trauma, ensuring they feel safe and their voice is heard.
- Work within a community outreach service, visiting young people individually across South Ayrshire, and be willing to travel as required.
- Manage your own time, balancing home-based work and community outreach, depending on service needs.
- Compassion and kindness to support young people in their day-to-day lives.
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
- Ability to apply transferable life experience and skills to support and enable individuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, driven by positive outcomes.
- Resilience, reliability, and excellent listening skills.
- Good IT and communication skills.
- Proactive and skilled in building strong, lasting relationships.
- A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential.
