About the Role

The London Borough of Sutton is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Finance Business Partner to join its shared finance service. This key role will focus on providing strategic support to the Residents and Communities directorate and the Corporate Services directorate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop subject matter expertise and take responsibility for ensuring that services produce accurate and useful financial information and forecasts.
  • Support services and colleagues to develop the medium-term financial plan and deliver their services within budget.
  • Provide direct support to council directors, enabling them to protect the financial health of the council.
  • Offer high-quality professional advice on the financial implications of corporate proposals and draft financial comments for committee reports.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to be an experienced finance professional with excellent communication skills, able to motivate and support your team. You will also need to be a qualified accountant with local government experience and adept at explaining complex local government finance issues.
