Main Responsibilities:

As a Diabetes Specialist Nurse, your primary objective will be to promote the health and wellbeing of individuals with complex diabetes. This involves helping them achieve optimal glycaemic control through informed self-management, empowering them to manage their condition effectively, and providing educational support to ensure they have the necessary skills to make informed decisions about their care.

Some of the key duties associated with this role include:

  • Enhance Health and Wellbeing: Promote the health and wellbeing of individuals with complex diabetes, ensuring they receive comprehensive care and support.
  • Empower Self-Management: Support and empower individuals to manage their diabetes effectively, making informed decisions about their care.
  • Educational Support: Provide education and guidance to individuals with diabetes and their carers, helping them understand their condition and make informed choices about their treatment.
  • Foster Collaborative Working: Encourage and facilitate regular collaboration among all healthcare professionals involved in diabetes care, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care.
Requirements:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Active NMC Registration: You must have an active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as an Adult nurse.
  • Specialist Diabetes Qualification: You must hold a Diploma in Diabetes or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: You should have recent UK nursing experience, preferably in a similar role or setting.
