Senior Biomedical Scientist in Histology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital. As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of care and providing exceptional service in our modern pathology laboratory.
About the RoleAs a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing expert knowledge and support to the training and development of other staff members in Histology.
- Carrying out and overseeing routine histology practices, including dissection, microtomy, embedding, manual coverslipping, troubleshooting, and validation of reagents.
- Supporting the organisation in validating and assessing new histology equipment.
- Assisting in the maintenance and improvement of quality management systems required for UKAS accreditation.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant laboratory experience in histology with multi-disciplinary biomedical science.
- Extensive histology experience, with knowledge to accompany this at specialist diploma level.
- A good understanding of laboratory processes and day-to-day running of a laboratory.
