Job Title: Registered Homecare Manager

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to join our team at an Outstanding Ofsted-rated children's home. The home provides a therapeutic approach to supporting children and young people with complex and challenging care needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day operational tasks within the home, ensuring the safeguarding of young people and working alongside a Deputy Manager and Residential Director to embed therapeutic interventions and practice within the home and through staff development.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct experience of Ofsted inspections and managing a regulated environment.
  2. Demonstrating safeguarding expectations as a Registered Manager.
  3. Leading all Ofsted inspections and maintaining a successful rating for our services.
  4. Supervising and offering constructive feedback to staff, including assessment and supervision.
  5. Updating and reviewing policies and procedures to reflect the aims and objectives of the home.
  6. Assessing the development needs of residents and monitoring and improving the home's care plan and practices.
  7. Ensuring the home is physically safe and providing a good quality environment for children.
  8. Creating and developing links between the community and the home to enable children to participate fully in community life.
  9. Ensuring children and staff are aware of procedures relating to complaints and concerns.
  10. Recruiting, training, and developing staff to meet the objectives of the home.
  11. Ensuring the assessed needs of young people are met on a day-to-day basis.
  12. Contributing to each child's placement plan review and child in care review.
  13. Ensuring a comprehensive plan for young people preparing to leave care.
  14. Ensuring the protection and safeguarding of the wellbeing of young people in our care.
Requirements
  1. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Residential Children's Services or equivalent.
  2. Direct experience in leading and supporting an Ofsted inspection and Reg 44 visits.
  3. Previous experience in a Registered Manager role within a children's home or residential Children's Care Setting.
  4. Evidence of previous Ofsted reports showcasing experience and knowledge as a Registered Manager.
  5. Physically fit, able to pass the Ofsted fit person questionnaire.
  6. Knowledge of Child Protection & Safeguarding.
  7. Ability to drive and hold a current driving license.
  8. Experience in line management of staff, including supervision.
  9. Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  10. Any relevant or transferrable skills, such as First Aid training.
  11. Knowledge of the Children Act & Children's Homes Regulations.
  12. Understanding and knowledge of the Therapeutic Approach to Childcare.

Annual leave: 28 days per annum inclusive of bank holidays.
