The Children's Investment Fund Foundation is seeking an exceptional Director of Financial Control to join our global Finance team, overseeing financial operations and ensuring the integrity of our $6bn endowment and $500m annual expenditure.

This is a high-profile role within a collaborative finance team where you'll bring both strategic vision and operational excellence. You will have the opportunity to directly influence the financial strategy of an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of millions of children.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a financial control strategy that aligns with CIFF's philanthropic mission and goals. Provide expertise to the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board on financial strategy, risk management, and operational efficiency.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee financial controls, including treasury, accounts payable, external reporting, external audits, risk management, financial processing, investing accounting, tax, and endowment monitoring.
  • Grantee Audits & Compliance: Develop a grantee audit strategy that ensures accurate reporting and supports grantees. Manage third-party relationships and build strong relationships with external partners and grantees.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing mentorship, support, and professional development opportunities. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified accountant with significant experience in financial control and financial reporting, preferably in a global context. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, strategic financial expertise, and a commitment to CIFF's mission.
