We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Finance Team as an Accounts Payable Assistant. This is a 9-month fixed-term contract opportunity that will provide the successful candidate with the chance to develop their skills and experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process and Manage Invoices: Process proforma invoices and one-off payment requests in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reconcile Supplier Statements: Reconcile supplier statements of account as required to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Purchase Ledger Management: Perform a system-led match of Purchase Order to Goods Received Note to Invoice, reverting to a manual match if necessary.
- Query Resolution: Resolve purchase ledger queries from suppliers and authorizers as they arise through the mailbox.
- Liaison with Divisions: Liaise with divisions to resolve payment queries and ensure timely resolution.
- Document Preparation and Scanning: Undertake document preparation and scanning activities as required.
- External Auditor Support: Assist with external auditor queries and provide necessary information and support.
- Monthly Accounting Tasks: Assist with various other regular monthly accounting tasks as required.
- System Support: Operate as a first level of support for system queries from the business in relation to the purchase to pay process.
- Effective Communication: Effective communication, team working, and organizational skills are essential for this role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience in supplier communications is desirable, together with knowledge of finance transactional processing on a finance system.
- Accounting Knowledge: An understanding of basic accounting concepts such as double entry bookkeeping is essential.
- Construction Industry Scheme Knowledge: Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme is desirable.
- Time Management: Ability to plan, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.
