About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and caring Assistant for Children with Autism to join our team at Academics Ltd in Southend-on-Sea. As an Autism Learning Support Professional, you will have the unique opportunity to support the learning and personal development of a non-verbal child with autism.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the child, their family, and the school team
  2. Support the child's communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in classroom activities
  3. Collaborate with the class teacher to implement individualized learning plans
  4. Provide proactive support for the child's social, emotional, and personal development
  5. Ensure seamless communication between teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with autism and special educational needs
  • An empathetic and patient approach to supporting children with SEND
  • A flexible and proactive attitude towards work
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is preferred
Salary and Benefits:

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum
