Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal child with autism in a welcoming school environment in Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

Key Duties:

  • Support the child with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in classroom activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual learning plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to ensure the child's needs are met.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the child, their family, and the school team.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with children with autism and special educational needs.
  • Strong patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with SEND.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (desired).

Salary Package:

  • Competitive annual salary (£25,000 - £30,000) based on experience.
