An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Department Administrator to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust.
We are seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic individual to provide administrative support to our busy outpatient department. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, handling inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is essential, with knowledge of computer systems and data entry being desirable.

The Role
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- To greet patients and visitors, handle inquiries, and direct them to the relevant staff member
- To maintain accurate records, including patient information and administrative documents
- To provide administrative support to the medical team, including preparing documents and managing supplies
- To contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an administrative role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
- Knowledge of computer systems and data entry (desirable)
