Job Title: Advisory Teacher for Children and Young People with a Vision Impairment

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Advisory Teacher to join our team, providing teaching, support, and advice to children and young people with vision impairment.

About the Role:
  • Provide teaching, support, and advice to children and young people with vision impairment, promoting their inclusion and overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Work collaboratively with service staff, school staff, families, pupils, and other professionals to deliver effective training and development.
  • Plan and deliver interventions for children with a variety of learning needs and styles.
Key Requirements:
  • Experienced teacher with the 'Qualified Teacher for Children and Young People with a Vision Impairment' mandatory qualification or willingness to train and qualify within 3 years.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Sound knowledge, skills, and direct experience of working with children with vision impairment.
  • Grade 1 or grade 2 braille qualification or willingness to attain.
  • Use of a car necessary to work in settings throughout the borough.
