We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist in Diabetes and Endocrinology to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hold a Certificate of completion of Specialist Training in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine
  • Attend appropriate professional courses to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field
  • Commit to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and enhance clinical skills
  • Membership of appropriate professional society(s) and knowledge of up-to-date literature
  • Hold a MB BS or equivalent qualification, Full Registration with the General Medical Council, and MRCP or equivalent
  • Teaching qualification, such as a PG Cert in Ed, is desirable
  • Wide experience in all aspects of diabetes, endocrinology, and medicine, with a willingness to develop skills as appropriate to the service needs
  • Specialist interests in aspects of diabetes and endocrinology are desirable
  • Evidence of recent and current research with relevant publications
  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients and their relatives, and with other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to work and make patient management decisions on own initiative, whilst seeking appropriate guidance from colleagues when required
  • Ability to work as a team with professional colleagues, both medical and other disciplines
  • Enthusiasm for improving the service
  • Experience of supervising junior medical staff and relevant staff in other disciplines is desirable
