Role Overview

This Scientific Project Manager role is a critical part of our team at The Francis Crick Institute Limited. We are seeking an experienced professional to join us and take on the challenges of managing NGS projects from initial planning to data delivery.

About the Team

You will be working closely with our Genomics lab team and the Bioinformatics STP to deliver high-quality NGS projects. Our team is passionate about advancing our understanding of biology and disease, and we are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing project management services for NGS projects from initial planning to data delivery
  • Collaborating with the Bioinformatics STP to ensure seamless integration of data analysis and reporting
  • Developing and maintaining effective project management workflows and tools
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for Crick researchers, organising consultation meetings and managing ongoing projects
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of high-quality data packages to researchers
  • Staying up-to-date with technology advances and research developments to ensure the STP remains at the forefront of sequencing technologies

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience in a research laboratory or core facility
  • Substantial post-graduate experience in genomics and/or bioinformatics, with excellent knowledge of NGS technologies and applications
  • Proven track record of delivering successful scientific projects from idea to completed data package
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a complex environment and getting things done independently and through collaboration
