The Crick, a world-leading research institute, is seeking an experienced Data Project Management Officer to support our scientific and operational projects. Located in central London, we provide high-quality Next Generation Sequence (NGS) data from a state-of-the-art, multi-platform core facility.

Job Description


We are looking for a project manager with extensive experience in molecular biology and genomics to oversee the end-to-end management of NGS projects. As primary point of contact for Crick researchers, you will organise consultation meetings for new projects, manage ongoing projects, and assist in the delivery and primary analysis of data. Your expertise in sequencing project design, setup, and delivery will ensure successful project outcomes in a demanding scientific environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide end-to-end project management of NGS projects for The Crick’s Genomics STP
  • Collaborate with the Bioinformatics STP to ensure sequencing projects are properly planned and supported with respect to data analysis and reporting
  • Develop tools and procedures to improve efficiency of project management and data delivery
  • Support Crick researchers with grant applications, project reports, and publications

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience in a research laboratory or core facility
  • Substantial post-graduate experience in genomics and/or bioinformatics
  • Practical experience in the management of scientific projects
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to deliver successful scientific projects
  • A qualification in project management, lab management, or safety relevant to a research environment
  • Experience in NGS data analysis (data QC)
  • Computing skills (R, UNIX, API scripting)

Benefits and Salary
