We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Genomic Data Science Lead to join our Bioinformatics Consulting team at Genomics England. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in leading cancer genome analysis projects, collaborating with external researchers and industrial partners, and driving the development of best practices for genome analysis.

**Job Overview:**

  • Lead complex genomic analysis projects from design to delivery, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to clinical safety standards.
  • Develop and implement novel analytical methods and tools to improve whole genome data processing, variant calling, annotation, and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and foster strong relationships with researchers and industry partners.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • PhD degree or equivalent practical experience in an industry setting.
  • In-depth expertise in cancer genomics, tumor drivers, and interpreting genomic data through targeted pathways.
  • Proficient in utilizing Python for efficient data processing and analysis, with hands-on experience in developing high-quality and reusable code.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional analytical teams in academic or industry environments.
