At Genomics England, we are committed to advancing genomics and its application in healthcare. As a Clinical Bioinformatician, you will play a vital role in supporting our efforts to connect bioinformatics, product development, and clinical users.

We are seeking an individual with experience in clinical research or healthcare, preferably in cancer or rare diseases. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in analyzing large-scale genomic data using cutting-edge bioinformatics tools and reference databases.

This role requires strong analytical skills, including data wrangling and visualization using Python and/or R. Your background in human genetics is also essential, as you will be working with diverse data sets and contributing to software testing and documentation preparation tailored to clinical users.

As a key member of our team, you will support the implementation of requirement analysis and end-user-oriented tests. You will also prepare and provide training activities for clinical users and researchers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge to effectively utilize our products.

The successful candidate will possess a MSc degree or equivalent practical experience in academic or commercial settings. A competitive salary from £48,500 reflects the importance of this role, and you can expect additional benefits, including 30 days' holiday (plus bank holidays), a generous pension scheme, life assurance, individual learning budgets, and a range of wellness benefits.

We are proud to offer a blended working model that provides flexibility while maintaining collaboration. Our office locations are Canary Wharf, Cambridge, and Leeds, and we operate a minimum requirement of two days per month in the office. All successful candidates undergo a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check due to the nature of our work in healthcare.
