Job Title: Student Welfare Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Welfare Officer to join our team at Bath College. As a key member of our support services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing and safeguarding of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide welfare and safeguarding support to students, prioritizing their wellbeing in all interactions.
  • Offer professional advice on safeguarding and wellbeing matters, serving as a trusted source of guidance for students and staff.
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload of vulnerable learners, delivering timely interventions and support while meeting key deadlines.
  • Take a lead role in one specific area of safeguarding, mental health, or wellbeing, providing specialist support to students in that field.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners, ensuring effective referral pathways.
  • Maintain comprehensive records using IT systems, ensuring all safeguarding and wellbeing information is up-to-date and accessible.
Requirements:
  • Experience in welfare and safeguarding within an educational setting, with a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple caseloads while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of support.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence and flexibility to adapt to different situations and challenges.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with a focus on maintaining detailed records and reports.
  • A commitment to equity, equality, and diversity, with the desire to work with learners facing a range of challenges and needs.
  • Level 3 Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
