Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Student Support and Safeguarding department at the University of Bath. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support to undergraduate and postgraduate students, promoting their wellbeing and helping them to thrive throughout their academic journey.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a relevant welfare and wellbeing-related academic qualification, along with a professional qualification, membership/registration in the areas of Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work, Probation or allied health professions such as Counselling or Occupational therapy.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to students through duty work, risk assessments, and structured wellbeing interventions
  • Working closely with other teams and colleagues within the department to deliver a comprehensive wellbeing service
  • Conducting needs assessments and risk assessments to identify students' support needs
  • Developing and delivering wellbeing interventions to support students' mental health and wellbeing
  • Collaborating with other departments and services to ensure a seamless student experience

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent needs assessment and risk assessment skills, alongside a strong background in working with and managing risk
  • Experience of delivering pastoral care, welfare and wellbeing support to a good standard
  • Effective communication and negotiating skills

Working Arrangements:

This is a part-time role (21.9 hours) for a fixed term period. The role will involve a mixture of office-based work (80%) and working from home (20%), with occasional weekend work required.
