About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and friendly individual to join our team as a Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer. As a Befriender, you will play a vital role in providing companionship to someone we support at our supported living service in Exeter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit individuals in their homes and engage in activities they enjoy, such as chatting, reading, or playing games.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Be kind, empathetic, and friendly, with a good sense of humour and ability to chat.
  • Be punctual and reliable, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection procedures.
  • Be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures.
  • Be over the age of 18.
