Role Overview: Companion Volunteer for Community Activities

Location: Exeter, Devon

Time Commitment: Flexible

As a Companion Volunteer for Community Activities, you will significantly enhance the lives of individuals at our supported living service in Exeter by being a dependable friend who accompanies them to various enjoyable pursuits. These activities may include leisurely walks, attending performances, enjoying cinema outings, or sharing a coffee or meal together. Essential Qualities
  • Kindness, empathy, and a friendly demeanor
  • A good sense of humor and a love for conversation
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to handle information in accordance with our confidentiality and data protection policies
  • Capability to assist with sighted guidance or orientation when needed
Please note that applicants must be over the age of 18 . To express your interest in this role, please click on the 'apply' button below and fill out the application form. After receiving your application, a member of our welcoming Volunteering Team will reach out for an informal discussion and to outline the next steps. To ensure the safety of those we support, a DBS check and two satisfactory references will be required prior to confirming your volunteer role. Additionally, you will need to complete safeguarding training and any role-specific training. About SeeAbility
