About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Clinical Support Worker. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Clinical Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the Ophthalmology Department at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. Your primary responsibilities will include providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Registered Nurse (RN).

You will be required to work in general Ophthalmology clinics and more specialized ophthalmic clinics, preoperative assessment, and support the organization and running theatre lists on a day-to-day basis. This provides the opportunity to cover all different aspects of Ophthalmic Care.

In this role, you will undergo in-house training specializing in Ophthalmic Nursing care. You will be expected to participate in working flexible hours to meet the needs of the service, including evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in support of and under the direction of a registered nurse, providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Provide basic patient care and document that care in the patient records.
  • Agreed clinical tasks, clerical duties, and phlebotomy.
  • Be required to participate in working flexible hours to the needs of the service, including evenings and weekends.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust offers a competitive salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
