School Business Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled school business manager to join our team in the Cumbria area.
The role involves working closely with schools and Multi Academy Trusts, assisting with budget monitoring and quarterly returns, and providing expert support from home when not onsite.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in finance support within a school environment, possess exceptional communication skills, and be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Develop and implement effective financial strategies to support the educational objectives of our clients.
- Manage budgets, forecast financial performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a sound working knowledge of risk management best practices and comply with relevant operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, academies, and local authorities.
- Provide expert financial advice and support to senior leaders and governors.
- Ensure the effective management of financial resources to achieve organisational objectives.
We work in partnership with schools, academy trusts, and local authorities to provide specialist expertise, ensuring every child receives a good education, is in a safe environment, and has access to guidance that helps them reach their full potential.
- A competitive basic salary £25,000 per year.
- 23 days' holiday (rising to 27) with the option to purchase additional leave.
- A hybrid role with travel across Cumbria (fully expensed).
