Support Young Carers to Thrive

We are seeking an experienced Young Carers Practitioner to join our dynamic team at The Children's Society. This role will involve providing holistic support to young carers in Camden and Islington, including one-to-one assessments, plans, and interventions to help them thrive and reduce the impact of caring responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain relationships with young people, communities, and partners to deliver culturally sensitive, therapeutic, and holistic support.
  • Conduct child-centred assessments and plans within scope of practice, and provide specialist help where necessary.
  • Deliver training and awareness-raising sessions to relevant professionals to promote understanding and support for young carers.
  • Work creatively and systemically to respond to new and challenging situations, and develop innovative solutions to support young carers.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge and awareness of national and local initiatives to support young carers and their families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Good level of IT skills, with experience of clinical record-keeping systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
