Role Overview
The Children's Society is seeking an experienced Young Carers Practitioner to join our dynamic team. As a Young Carers Practitioner, you will contribute to the overall provision of services for young carers in Camden & Islington, providing child-centred assessments, plans and interventions to support young carers to thrive, and reduce the impact of caring responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with young people, communities and partners, working in a culturally sensitive, therapeutic and holistic way, recognising and responding to children's individual needs.
- Deliver training and awareness raising sessions to relevant professionals and provide specialist help where necessary.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of holistic support plans for young carers, working in partnership with families and other agencies.
Requirements
- Knowledge and awareness of national and local initiatives to support young carers and their families, and good understanding of young carers support needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
- Good level of IT skills, with experience of clinical record keeping.
