Project Engineer EC&I (Nuclear) - Competitive Salary - Suffolk

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team as we expand our capabilities in the UK's nuclear industry.

You will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex construction projects, focusing on compliance, safety, and optimisation throughout.

This is a challenging but rewarding role, working on some of the most exciting new build nuclear projects in the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor project delivery, identifying risk and opportunities, and work with stakeholders to optimise project delivery.
  • Assess constructability of proposed designs, ensuring feasibility within required timescales.
  • Lead construction works, ensuring compliance with company processes and protocols.
  • Review and approve contractor documents delegated by Project Manager.
  • Support supervisory and engineering teams, and participate in project steering groups/cross-discipline action groups.
  • Perform site surveys, liaising with designers.
  • Proofread and approve drawings.
  • Act as point of contact for site-related project issues.
  • Act as Test Team Leader when necessary.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
  • Implement systems and processes for Right First-Time approach.
  • Oversee Handover Documentation for Section.
  • Drive operational target programs to reflect overall construction program.
  • Liaise with off-site functions for knowledge sharing and best practice.
  • Other assigned duties.

The Person We Are Looking For

  • Practical understanding of services discipline associated with the role, with an EC&I bias.
  • HNC/HND qualifications in Electrical or C&I discipline (advantageous, though not essential).
  • Collaborative working environment experience.
  • Experience in managing a wide range of construction operations, including phasing and contingency planning, testing, and handover.
  • Substantial experience within H&S Management in an operational setting, including method statements, accident/incident investigation, current HSE and CDM legislation, and proficiency in H&S Management.

Competitive Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
