About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Compliance Expert to join our team at HMRC. As an Indirect Tax Professional, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of the UK's tax system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of complex VAT cases, identifying potential risks and areas of non-compliance.
  • Develop and implement effective compliance strategies to ensure customers adhere to VAT regulations.
  • Investigate multiple business and individual networks, designed to hide fraud, tackling fraudulent behaviour and/or poor compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders on VAT compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to VAT compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Represent HMRC in meetings and discussions with external stakeholders, including businesses and professional bodies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of VAT compliance processes and procedures.
