Financial Controller Job Description

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our client's team in Rosyth. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations and reporting tasks, collaborating with business partners, ensuring robust internal controls, conducting analysis, and maintaining statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, handle accruals, prepayments, and journals, including contract revenue and deferred income.
  • Cash Flow Management: Record all receipts and payments, and generate a weekly cash flow forecast.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Board Reporting: Create a monthly Board report with commentary and variance analysis.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare quarterly VAT submissions.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to be willing to learn and take on great responsibility. A background in construction, engineering, or manufacturing would be preferable. You should also be comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders.
