About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill adults in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the care of ventilated, haemofiltered, and cardiovascularly compromised patients under supervision, developing professionally and utilising competency-based knowledge and skills.
- Support Nurse Team Leaders and Nurse Team Managers in the training and development of junior staff.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the management of acutely unwell/deteriorating patients nursed outside the critical care setting, such as Recovery and Emergency Department.
- Keep fully informed about changes in Critical Care, Outreach, and update professional knowledge to meet the requirements for Revalidation.
- Plan and deliver patient care to the highest standard, utilising a holistic, research-based model and including patient and relative involvement.

Person Specification
- RGN qualification
- Willingness to complete Diploma/Degree in Critical Care Nursing
- Post-basic course ENB 124/100/920
- ENB 998/City and Guilds 7307
- Evidence of continuing education
- Ward experience within an acute environment
- Critical Care experience
- Critical Care shift leadership
- Mentorship training
- Awareness of resource management
Skills/Knowledge
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good standard of clinical care
- Able to work well in a team
- Knowledge of current developments in pre and post-registration nursing
- Awareness of current issues in Nursing/NHS
