About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior User Researcher to join our Social Security Programme Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and carrying out research activities with users to inform policy, proposition, service, content, and interaction design.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead on a range of qualitative and quantitative user research activities to support business and project needs. You will work closely with senior members of project teams to provide clear, actionable insights and support decision making.

As a senior user researcher, you will be an experienced practitioner who is able to plan and lead user research activities in larger teams and on more complex services. You will build user-centred practices in new teams and align user research activities with wider plans to inform service proposition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on user research activities to support business and project needs
  • Work closely with senior members of project teams to provide clear, actionable insights
  • Advocate for the value of user research and engage colleagues and stakeholders
  • Champion the inclusion of different types of users in research activities
  • Manage ethics documentation, data protection, and equalities impact assessments

Essential Requirements
  • Experience of playing a lead role in a research setting
  • Experience of using communication techniques to share research insights with diverse audiences
  • Ability to share knowledge and experience of designing research sessions
  • Experience of managing personal data, consent processes, and other ethical considerations
