**Job Title:** Technical Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Compliance Specialist to join our team at Scottish Water.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting the West area Wastewater Operational teams and Capital Investment delivery teams with technical compliance and regulatory expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting the West area Wastewater Operational teams and Capital Investment delivery teams with technical compliance and regulatory expertise.
  2. Ensuring that Scottish Water's activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and that any non-compliance is identified and addressed promptly.
  3. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify and mitigate potential environmental risks.
  4. Developing and implementing technical compliance plans to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  5. Providing expert advice and guidance on technical compliance and regulatory matters to internal stakeholders and external partners.

Requirements:

  • A thorough understanding of European and UK environmental legislation, particularly Scottish regulations, the regulatory framework within which Scottish Water operates and environmental regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in delivering technical compliance and regulatory improvement programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
