We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our team as a Diabetes Nurse Specialist. The successful candidate will work within an established team of Diabetes Nurse Specialists and as part of a wider multidisciplinary diabetes team to deliver high-quality diabetes care.

Main Duties
  • Provide clinical nursing advice, education, and leadership within the specialty.
  • Work with a high degree of personal autonomy to deliver optimal care throughout all aspects of the patient care pathway.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of people across different disciplines in both the hospital and community environment.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse (valid with NMC)
  • Post-graduate diploma level (academic level 6)
  • Completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification.
Desirable
  • PgCert
  • Relevant Diabetes courses or willingness to undertake.
Experience
  • Extensive experience post-qualification
  • Evidence of personal and professional development
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • An understanding of outpatients
