Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Surveyor to join our growing Commercial team in Byfleet, focusing on projects within our South East region.

Your responsibilities will include managing the complete financial cycle of two to three contracts, from assisting in the preparation of projected construction costs to overseeing procurement, payments, and final evaluations of subcontractors, along with monthly cost forecasting and reporting.

You will collaborate with various key internal stakeholders, including Construction and Procurement teams, as well as the Managing Director. Additionally, you will engage with external contractors and consultants to negotiate trading terms and contracts.

Your duties will encompass subcontractor procurement, monthly valuations and payments, cost forecasting, and assisting in the preparation of construction budgets for approximately three concurrent developments.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will be required to visit your sites at least once a week, with occasional overtime as needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Construction, with prior experience as a Surveyor, preferably in residential development.

You should hold an HNC, HND, or a similar qualification, and while membership in a professional body such as RICS or CIOB is preferred, it is not mandatory. A solid understanding of architectural drawings, specification documents, and relevant terminology is essential.

It is crucial that you are a commercially savvy negotiator with experience in measuring drawings, tender analysis, and standard surveying techniques. You should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong self-motivation and the ability to prioritize effectively.
