Join the NHS South West London Integrated Care Board as an Adult Safeguarding Specialist and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults in our community.
About the RoleThe Adult Safeguarding Specialist will be responsible for leading and coordinating the adult safeguarding strategy across the South West London Integrated Care System. This will involve working closely with partners to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the adult safeguarding strategy across the South West London Integrated Care System.
- Work closely with partners to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance on adult safeguarding issues.
- Lead on adult safeguarding across the ICB/ICS and relevant Safeguarding Committees/Groups.
- Prepare an annual report for the SWL ICB and the SWL ICB's contribution to the Safeguarding Adults Board Strategic Plan and Annual Report.
- Undertake the role of Mental Capacity Act Lead providing advice on the Mental Capacity Act, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard/Liberty Protection Safeguard issues.
- Support the Learning from Lives and Deaths Review (LeDeR) programme for the ICB, being the Local Area Contact where appropriate, working closely with the LeDeR team.
- Ensure that recording systems are in place about decision making and recommendations relating to the management of allegations, and to ensure the control of information is in accordance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.
- Provide support and advice about the appropriate content of contracts, service specifications and service level agreements.
- Work in partnership with providers to offer oversight and assurance in relation to performance management frameworks, dashboards and the patient experience.
- Advise partners and other organisations on health matters in relation to adult safeguarding.
