Job Summary

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Principal Technical Safety Engineer to work in our Staines office. The successful candidate will provide discipline leadership and focal point to the design input of the overall project design team encompassing planning, scheduling, and execution of discipline activities and deliverables, including manhour estimating when requested.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design input of the overall project design team.
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of discipline activities and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the design phases, including feasibility, concept, pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC.
  • Collaborate with the project design team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Foster a culture of safety and excellence within the team.
Requirements
  • Substantial experience in the Design HSE profession across all design phases within Energy Transition, Oil & Gas, Refinery &/or Petrochemical sectors.
  • UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject.
  • Preferably a Chartered Engineer and member of an appropriate engineering institution.
  • Significant experience across all Technical HSE sub-disciplines, including Process Safety, Fire Protection, Environmental, and Human Factors.
  • Awareness of 2D drafting and 3D CAD modelling processes.
  • Familiar with software pertaining to the discipline, including PHAST, FRED, Safeti, Shephard, FLACS, FlareSIM, Detect3D, Pipenet, PHA-Pro, etc.
