About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations, interpreting complex images, and formulating comprehensive reports.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct ultrasound examinations using analytical and judgement skills to interpret complex images.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, diagnostic reports for each examination.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, using tact, empathy, and diplomacy.
  • Maintain personal clinical expertise in ultrasound scanning, including ongoing CPD.
  • Review, update, and maintain patients' clinical records.
  • Participate in teaching students and clinicians in the field of ultrasound.

Requirements
  • Postgraduate specialist diploma in medical/obstetric ultrasound.
  • HCPC/NMC or other professional registration.
  • DQASS registration.
  • Ultrasound theory with CASE accredited establishment.
Desirable
  • DQASS green flag.
Knowledge & Experience

Essential
  • Sound knowledge of clinical ultrasound and interpretation of complex information/images.
  • Cross-sectional anatomy.
Desirable
  • Extensive scanning experience.
  • Audit.
Skills, Abilities and Attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy.
Desirable
  • Subspecialty scanning experience.
