Consultant Adult Psychiatrist with Community Focus

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Adult Psychiatrist to join our team in the North Wiltshire Intensive Service. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical leadership and consultation to Intensive Team members, supporting them in delivering high-quality care to patients in their homes and facilitating safe transitions between inpatient and community services.
Main Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and consultation to Intensive Team members, supporting them in delivering high-quality care to patients in their homes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Intensive and Inpatient services to develop and lead the acute care pathway.
- Teach and supervise Medical Students, promoting their development and growth in the field of Adult Psychiatry.
- Contribute to Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Comply with all Trust policies, promoting equality of access to healthcare and upholding the values of our organization.
- Develop and maintain expertise in a specific area of clinical interest, aligned with the needs of our service.
- Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), maintaining the role of Educational Supervisor for trainees and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist with the following qualifications and experience:
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Relevant Higher Degree, such as MD, PhD, or MSc, or additional clinical qualifications.
- MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT.
- Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- CCT in General Adult Psychiatry.
- Experience of assessing and treating patients in a community setting.
- Ability to assess and treat psychiatric problems in Adults of working age and deal with crisis situations.
- Commitment to and experience of undergraduate and postgraduate learning and teaching.
- Experience or involvement in a research project and publication.
- Experience of carrying out an audit project.
- Evidence of management/leadership skills training.
