About the role:

The POWYS COUNTY COUNCIL Care and Support Team focuses on supporting children, young people, and their families. The team's primary goal is to provide essential services to those in need of additional support. This may involve working with children who require protection, care, or support, as well as families undergoing court proceedings.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced Social Workers and Wellbeing Workers. As part of the team, you will be supported by two Team Co-Ordinator's who handle various tasks, including organizing meetings, preparing chronologies, and providing general business support.

We are committed to fostering professional development and career progression within the team. Supervising social workers have manageable caseloads, receive a comprehensive induction, participate in regular reflective supervision, and have access to additional support and mentoring when needed.

The Fostering Team oversees all aspects of the fostering role, from recruitment and retention of mainstream foster carers to assessing and supporting friends and family who foster.

As a successful candidate, you will be able to provide appropriate support to children and families, using your enthusiasm and motivation to promote successful outcomes. You will also possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with others.
